Maintaining a healthy routine is very important and a demand of time these days.World has gone through many recent changes where our physical activity has been reduced drastically especially for those who work from home and have long hours of sitting jobs. Also, everything is available online and we have become used to get all our needs fulfilled by just clicking some app from our smartphones.

Today I am writing in this post about important tips on healthy habits which we should follow daily for our physical and mental health.Yes dear readers, we all know it : Health of our body and mind is one of the most precious gifts we all have and we all must try to maintain it for a healthy happy living.

A Good Morning Routine:
Every Morning 🌞 is a Gift!
Step 1: Wake up early
5 AM is a good time to wake up and start our day.By doing so we get enough time to spend in silence with ourselves in fresh morning Breeze and Bright Sunshine. Do not forget to make your bed before you begin your day.
Step 2: Say Thank You
Closing eyes in silence and feeling gratitude for all that you have – fresh air to breath, home to live, food to eat or anything you are thankful for – your family, friends, job, or plants, trees, birds around you.
Step 3: Yoga/Meditation
Sitting in Silence and practicing some basic yoga gives inner peace and helps to stay focused. It is best if we practice surya namaskar and basic breathing exercises.
Step 4: Exercise
Staying fit is obviously a good habit and if not rigorous but only some basic exercise in the morning helps improves our well being a lot. A walk or jogging is also very beneficial in this regard.
Step 5: Take Bath and Pray
A refreshing bath every morning with cold or warm water depending on the weather is perfect and should be followed by small Prayer time. Light up a small lamp or some dhoop or agarbatti. It gives lot of positive vibes.
Step 6: Drink Water
At around 7 AM, drink water, lots of it. We should drink at least 4 litres of water in a day. In the morning, it is good to have luke warm water with Honey and Lemon. It not only helps reduce weight but also removes impurities and detox our body.
Step 7: Read
Reading is one of the best habits we can develop in ourselves. Reading good books daily,any of our interest area keeps us up to date and enhance our knowledge.Even if it is for only 30 minutes, it really helps! Try it.
Step 8: Write
Another important daily habit which can help excel in any area is writing.Yes, we all must write our ideas, plans, some short term goals, long term goals,any good thoughts which comes into our mind. Many people maintain a daily diary and it’s a very good practice.
Step 9: A Healthy Breakfast
Between 9 to 10 AM have a fulfilling breakfast. Milk/Coffee/Tea/Green Tea whatever best suits you. Cornflakes, boiled eggs, oats, poha, Apple/Guava – These are some good options to consider. Step 10: Cleaning
It is very important to keep our surroundings clean. Home, office desk, clothes, kitchen all need a daily attention from us and we should develop a cleaning routine. It not only helps maintain hygiene and cleanliness but also generates positivity all around us.
A Good Afternoon Routine :
Step 1: Have Lunch
At around 12 PM – 1 PM have your lunch.It could be like : Roti/Chapati,Green Vegetables,Pulses, Salad(1 bowl) and Curd. Be it anything, just keep it simple and healthy.
Step 2: Take a Walk
Don’t forget to take a small walk after your meal. It is very helpful for better digestion and keeps us fit.
Step 3: Eat Seasonal Fruits
No matter how much busy you’re with office work or kids or home stuffs, do not forget to have some seasonal fruits in afternoon at around 2 PM. Every seasonal fruit has its own health benefits.You can include Oranges/Grapes/Papaya/Mangoes/Banana and so on based on the season.
Step 4: Take a Nap
If possible, take a small nap. It is very important to give some rest to our body and mind. Small nap not only helps to reduce stress but also helps to make a fresh start with full energy. You can include these small naps at any time in your day as per your convenience.
A Good Evening Routine:
Step 1: Enjoy Teatime
At around 4 PM, have a refreshing cup of Green Tea with light snacks.You can opt for some laai Chana (puffed tice and gram).
Step 2: Wrap up
Try to put a logical end for the day on your office or home stuffs. Planning consciously for how your official end of day will look like and practicing it every day helps to stay organized. It also helps to visualize your next day tasks. This also makes us more ready and efficient for any new task if comes in our bin before we sign off for the day.
Step 3: Evening Snacks
Do not forget to have a light and healthy evening snacks at around 6 PM. It could be poha, oats, vegetable soup , anything similar of your own choice.Avoid having heavy meals during evening hours.
Step 4: Evening Walk
Do try to have some walk during evening as well, it could be just for 15 minutes. If at home, you can go for arranging washed clothes or utensils of the day.The idea is to get involved into some kind of physical activity. If nothing, just do some basic exercises.
A Good Night Routine:
Step 1: Have Dinner
At around 8 PM,eat your dinner. It should be very simple comprising of Roti/Chapati,Green Vegetable and 1 bowl Salad.
Step 2: Have Fun
Do something exciting,you can watch your favorite TV show or play with your kids, dance, sing, get engaged in your hobby. These activities surely help to relax your mind.
Step 3: Cleaning
Yes dear friends, brush your teeth, have a face wash, clean your bed properly before going for sleep.Following these small tips can help to get a nice sleep.
Step 4: Sleep Well
At around 10 PM, be on bed and at this time you can read some good affirmations or put on a relaxing music or light up a candle to make your sleeping surroundings peaceful and serene. Close your eyes in silence and just concentrate on your breathing. This helps to remove all kinds of thoughts from your mind and to sleep calmly.
These small daily habits are well proven and very effective.You can personalize them based on your own convenience but the idea remains same – live every moment of your day to the fullest.Wish you a happy healthy lifestyle !
